Ghostly Impressions

The cyanotype process, invented in 1842 by Sir John Herschel, was initially used to reproduce notes and diagrams, giving rise to the term "blueprint" for architectural plans. Anna Atkins famously utilized it to create the first book illustrated with photographic images.
