Tea, an ancient beverage, is believed to have been discovered by Chinese Emperor Shen Nong in 2737 BC when leaves from a wild tree blew into his pot of boiling water. It has since spread across the globe, evolving into a cultural staple with a complex history that spans thousands of years, from the tea ceremonies of Japan to the tea gardens of India, and the afternoon teas of England.
