Permanently Below The Horizon
Permanently Below The Horizon
Because the Moon is tidally locked to Earth, it always keeps the same face turned toward us. This means the near side of the Moon always sees Earth in its sky (with a slight apparent “wobble” due to libration), while the far side never sees Earth at all, with our planet permanently below its horizon.
