Labubu was created by Hong Kong–born, Netherlands-raised artist Kasing Lung, originally as part of a picture-book series called "The Monsters," inspired by Nordic folklore, before Pop Mart picked it up and turned it into the blind-box collectible line that made it a global phenomenon.
